Ultraleather Coast is a premium outdoor leather-alternative fabric engineered for the demands of real outdoor life. Developed by Ultrafabrics — the world leader in high-performance polyurethane textiles — the Coast collection brings the supple warmth and refined hand of fine leather to exterior cushions, pillows, padded slings, arm pads, and custom textile applications. The Cabana colorway is drawn from the natural palette of the American coastline: a warm golden sand — the color of a sun-drenched beach at midday, relaxed and inviting.
Performance
Standard outdoor fabrics — including most Sunbrella lines — range from 15,000 to 30,000 double rubs. Coast tests at 400,000 double rubs (Wyzenbeek) and 180,000 Martindale cycles. That is not an incremental improvement. It is a different category of material entirely. Combined with 16-week hydrolysis resistance — exceptional performance in humid, salt-air, and poolside environments — and a 5-year Ultrafabrics manufacturer warranty, Coast is specified with confidence for residential and commercial applications where lesser fabrics fail within seasons.
Comfort & Feel
Unlike vinyl, PVC, and dense polyester outdoor fabrics — which trap heat and become sticky and scorching in direct sun — Ultraleather Coast is engineered to remain cool to the touch. Its 100% Polycarbonate Polyurethane surface dissipates heat rapidly rather than absorbing and holding it, a property Ultrafabrics builds into the material by design. The result is a fabric that stays far more comfortable underfoot and against the skin than non-porous synthetics on a summer afternoon — and one that never has the clammy, plastic feel of vinyl regardless of conditions. The hand is soft, supple, and breathable in a way that no standard outdoor fabric achieves.
Care & Construction
Maintenance is as close to effortless as outdoor fabric gets:

Construction: 100% Polycarbonate Polyurethane surface over a blended backcloth of recycled polyester and FSC/PEFC-certified rayon — each linear yard incorporating approximately 8 recycled plastic bottles. Manufactured in Japan at Ultrafabrics’ state-of-the-art mill. Weight: 11.2 oz per square yard (1.15mm). Width: 54 inches.
