When sourcing measurements from existing cushions for replacements, always measure edge to edge, directly across the cushion seams. Please exclude any welting or piping present.

Dimensions to Consider:

Width: Measure side to side, typically across the back where zippers are or would be placed. Take measurements between seams to the closest 1/4″. Bench cushions generally range from a minimum of 18″ to 100″ for expansive ones. For extensive cushion placements, consider segmenting into multiple cushions for ease of upkeep and cleaning.
Depth: Measure from the cushion’s front edge to its back, ideally across the side. Record your measurement between the seams to the nearest 1/4″. Bench cushions usually span from ~18″ to 24″, but can stretch up to 36″ for those designed for deep seating.
Thickness: Ascertain this measurement from the cushion’s top surface to its base, ideally at a corner. Note down measurements from seam to seam to the closest 1/4″. While typical bench cushion thickness falls between 3″ to 8″, we’ve crafted cushions that surpass 20″ thickness for specialized needs.

For Trapezoid Cushions:

Depth: When measuring a trapezoid cushion’s depth, take measurements from the center of the width, moving from front to back, as opposed to the side approach used for other shapes.
Front Width: Span your measurement from one end to the other, specifically across the cushion’s front. Ensure measurements are between seams to the nearest 1/4″.
Back Width: Measure from one side to the opposite, focusing on the cushion’s back. Always record measurements from seam to seam, accurate to the nearest 1/4″.

All of our fillings meet the California CA-117 requirements for flammability standards.

Firmness:

Soft firmness is typically used for back cushions, bolster pillows, or seat cushions which are thicker than 5″ or more.
Medium firmness is a good balance between soft comfort and firm support, and is typically used for seating between 3-5″, or thinner back cushions made with foam.
Firm foam is typically preferred by customers who want to maximize support, and is most requested on the thinner cushions, both seats and backs.

It is possible to have cushions made with a combination of firmness, e.g. a soft top with a firm bottom, to take your customization to the next level.

Keep in mind that the thicker the foam, the firmer it will feel, even for softer firmnesses.

Standard Indoor/Outdoor

Standard Indoor/Outdoor filling is a closed cell foam, wrapped with a Dacron padding to provide a full, high quality look not typically present with lower end cushions. This foam is long-lasting, antimicrobial, mold-resistant, and will perform well in either indoor or outdoor applications. It is well suited to humid and rainy environments, or poolside use.

Premium Indoor/Outdoor

Premium Indoor/Outdoor filling is similar to the standard version but is even longer lasting, it will withstand the extreme use associated with high-traffic commercial installations.

Dryfast

Dryfast is an open cell foam that will perform similarly to the Standard Indoor/Outdoor, but because of the open cellular structure will dry from exposure to water much faster. This foam is also antimicrobial, mold-resistant, and comes with the full dacron wrap for high-quality look and feel.

Polyfiber

Polyfiber is a soft flexible filling material, a synthetic alternative to feathers, which enables a soft, comfortable feeling on back cushions and decorative pillows. This material is also antimicrobial, and mold-resistant, and is a good choice for both indoor applications and outdoor applications where it can be exposed to the elements.

Our standard ties are 12″ long, and come in pairs so that they can be tied around the seating frames. If you want alternative ties, we also offer 18″ standard ties, and loop velcro ties as well, for an additional charge. Please contact us if you want to have any of these alternatives.

None: Your cushion will come without any tie attachments, for the cleanest look.

2 ties: We will attach the ties to the back of the cushion, extending from the corners.

4 ties: We will attach the ties to the back and front of the cushion, extending from the corners.
